ASHEVILLE N.C. — The Buncombe County Courthouse is open for essential operations only beginning on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you have received a traffic or misdemeanor citation and your case was set this week in district ADMIN court, your case will be rescheduled and you should not come to court. You may check the status of your case and your new court date here.
If you are charged with a crime, contact your lawyer or the Public Defender’s Office at 828.259.3423 for your next court date. Be sure your attorney has good contact information for you at all times. You may also call the District Attorney’s Office: 828.259.3410 or the Clerk of Superior Court: 828.259.3400. For your First Appearance following an arrest, you are expected to come to court. The courthouse is open for essential cases such as Domestic Violence criminal and civil Protective Orders. For Juvenile Court questions call your court counselor or 828.225.7330. Further updates about courthouse operations and accessbility will be made as water services are restored to the courthouse.
