Gary Jackson honored by Rotary Club of Asheville

Press release from Four Seasons:

On March 28th the Rotary Club of Asheville membership and the Board of Directors will recognize Gary Jackson with a Paul Harris Fellow plus 1 honor. The club leadership determined that Gary demonstrated “service above self” during his tenure as Asheville City Manager and Rotary Club member. Gary served the Rotary Club of Asheville for many years in a variety of leadership roles and has left a positive legacy. He previously was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow for his past commitment to service and community.

“Gary served our city well and was a model Rotarian over the past 12+ years.  He helped our club keep in-tune with the city and its needs.” Said Rotary Club of Asheville President Rick Devereaux.

Gary served the Asheville community as City Manager for 13 years, giving much of his life to improving the community he and his wife lived in. He was an active member of the Rotary Club of Asheville and represented the City of Asheville honorably.

Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation. The Rotary Club of Asheville has previously honored several notable community (non-members) leaders as Paul Harris Fellows including Fire Chief, Scott Burnette; Retiring Sheriff Van Duncan, and former Mayor Terry Bellamy.
