Press release from Cooperate WNC:
As the flood waters begin to recede, as communication starts to flow again, and we begin to hear stories between western NC communities about the devastation, my heart is split wide open by the loss, and by the spirit of care and cooperation that I see written in the words and actions of so many people.
Please keep heart, know that we’re in this together, and remember that disasters provide major moments of opportunity for us to restructure systems and relationships in transformed ways that more deeply serve life and take care of humans, if we can imagine them and stay together.
