It is a joint venture between the Housing Assistance Corporation, Givens Estate, Inc., the City of Hendersonville, Henderson County, and other partners. The subdivision, which will accommodate 20 Single-Family homes and 60 Multi-Family units, is a result of the combined efforts of these entities. Dogwood Health has been a crucial funding partner since the project’s inception, securing land for both the single-family and multi-family sites.“We are grateful for the continued affirmation of our work by these long-standing partners. We are focused on meeting challenges of the current housing landscape through dynamic collaboration,” said Executive Director Margaret Lebeck. “Housing Assistance has been helping people find their way home since 1988, but never has housing been a more critical factor of our local economy.”Founded in 1988 by local church members committed to performing home repairs for the elderly in Henderson County, the non-profit organization has expanded today to include home repairs, housing counseling, and new construction projects in Henderson, Polk, and Transylvania counties. The Housing Assistance Corporation believes every human being deserves the opportunity to live in a decent home and strives to address the need for safe, affordable workforce housing in its Tri-county reach.
