The Hendersonville Times-News reports that for the sixth consecutive year, a Tryon business owner is using his bicycle to raise money for cancer.
This year his ride in the mountains promises to be longer, more challenging and more strenuous. But John Cash, owner of Nature’s Storehouse, a health food store, hopes it will have a bigger impact as well.
“I’ll do whatever it takes,” he said. “As long as I am able to ride, I will do it. There are people suffering with cancer. What can I do to help?”
Cash will ride up the Saluda Grade at 8 a.m. Saturday and then pedal along the Green River Cove. He plans to complete five loops for a total of 116 miles, climbing 11,000 feet in the process.
