Indivisible Asheville/WNC hosts protest in defense of Mueller investigation 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8

Press release from  Indivisible Asheville/WNC:

Emergency Protest in Defense of Mueller Investigation Nov. 8 at 5:00 pm at Vance Monument in Asheville

North Carolina Leaders Call on Congress to Respond Quickly and Forcefully

Emergency protests are planned across the country on Nov. 8 at 5 p.m. in response to President Trump’s decision Wednesday to appoint Matt Whitaker as acting Attorney General. Whitaker is a partisan loyalist who has published op-eds slamming Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, and the Justice Department says acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker will immediately take over supervising special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation from Rod Rosenstein, the embattled deputy attorney general.

This appointment undermines the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and possible collusion by the Trump campaign.

More than 1,500 people have signed up to attend this event in Asheville, which is one of over 900 simultaneous events across the country.

Leaders are calling on Congress to respond quickly and forcefully to this clear obstruction of justice.
