Press release from Miracles in Sight:

Industries for the Blind receives $950,000 from Miracles in Sight Eye Bank for expanded community outreach for the blind in WNC

WHAT: Industries for the Blind is strengthening its commitment to employment, training and services for people who are blind and visually impaired with expanded services for its Community Low Vision Center and a new mobile low vision van that will travel throughout WNC. With funding provided through a $950,000 donation by Miracles in Sight Eye Bank (formerly North Carolina Eye Bank), IFB will provide services for all ranges of vision, and increase the physical footprint of its other community services to improve access to specialized low vision resources.

WHO:    Dean Vavra, Executive Director of the Miracles in Sight Eye Bank (formerly North Carolina Eye Bank), will present a check for $950,000 to David Barnwell, President of A Brighter Path Foundation, a supporting organization of Industries for the Blind, and Randy Buckner, IFB Asheville Operations Manager.  The donation reflects a long-standing relationship between IFB and Miracles in Sight, which is committed to helping all people with vision challenges, not just those whose sight can be restored through corneal transplants.
