Press release from Lenoir-Rhyne University:

Lenoir-Rhyne University student and successful entrepreneur, Alex Freeman, was featured in an article (posted December 28) on the Forbes Magazine website. Freeman is the founder and creator of BottomsUP Box, a craft-beer themed subscription box service, which has flourished through the incubator program of LR’s Center for Commercial and Social Entrepreneurship (CCSE).

“We are extremely proud of Alex,” said Dr. Ralph Griffith, Director of the CCSE and Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship. “His success is representative of what can be accomplished through hard work, diligence, and the courage to follow your dreams.” According to Griffith, helping students to achieve their dreams is exactly what is happening through the CCSE. The program stresses entrepreneurship as a way to not only achieve personal success, but to positively impact society. The incubator serves as a vast resource for the area’s budding entrepreneurs, providing step by step instructions for the complete development of a product or service. From legal assistance and patents to mentorships and funding, the CCSE aims to support entrepreneurs in their establishment of innovative, profitable businesses.

Freeman graduated from LRU with his Bachelor of Science in Economics and is currently, seeking his MBA in Entrepreneurship through LR’s graduate program. BottomsUP Box delivers apparel and accessories to craft-beer enthusiasts, providing a unique avenue to connect beer companies with their consumers.
