Local nonprofits may apply for free advertising services with AAFA

Press Release

The American Advertising Federation of Asheville

The American Advertising Federation of Asheville (AAFA) will choose one nonprofit organization from the community to provide free professional advertising and marketing assistance to in 2015 as part of its annual public service project.
Services are provided pro bono by AAFA members and supporters.

All interested nonprofits are welcome to apply. Applications are available by email at: publicservice@aafasheville.org. Completed applications should be sent back to the same email or sent by postal mail to
Public Service PO Box 2053 Asheville, NC 28802

The due date for completed applications is January 5, 2015.

“This is a great way for us to give back to the community that supports our industry,” says AAFA president Tim Shumbera. “We love doing this work and are anxious to see who might apply. There is so much talent in our local club that some nonprofit is really going to benefit from this project.”

Criteria for selection are fairly broad. Consideration is given to those groups that have a 501(c)3 IRS designation, are not political in nature and are broad enough in scope that they would benefit from a local marketing campaign. The project will be both noncommercial and nondenominational.

AAFA representatives will meet with the selected organization early in January to plan and schedule the marketing project.
