From the press release:
Hendersonville, N.C. (March 20 , 2012) – In celebration of Older American’s Month, each year, the Area Agency on Aging at the Land-of-Sky Regional Council plans a party exclusively for centenarians from around the region. This year’s event, “Never Too Old to Play,” will take place at The Health Adventure, which recently joined the Park Ridge Health family. “Not everyone is aware of the many community programs we offer – and they’re not just for kids!” explained Paige Wheeler, Executive Director of The Health Adventure. “Our educators work closely with the Land-of-Sky Regional Council all year in providing programming for the senior members of our community, so we felt this year’s event was a perfect fit for us.”
The party – which includes High Tea – will take place on Tuesday, May 15, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at The Health Adventure, located in the Biltmore Square Mall. “We value older adults as a resource in our community,” says Rebecca Chaplin, Aging Program Specialist at the Land-of-Sky Regional Council Area Agency on Aging. “Older American’s month is a perfect time to celebrate the distinguished few who have crossed the threshold of living for an entire century. It is our honor to participate in this celebration with partners at Park Ridge Health, the Council on Aging of Buncombe County, Inc. and the Council on Aging for Henderson County.” For information about this event and regarding transportation opportunities, please call 828.251.7438.
