ASHEVILLE, N.C. (Sept. 27, 2013) – Charles Ayscue, MBA, Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Mission Health, has received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, one of the highest honors the governor can bestow on a North Carolina citizen.
“I am honored to receive the Order of the Long Leaf Pine,” said Ayscue. “I have always enjoyed being involved in healthcare and the work I do at Mission Health. It’s gratifying to know the care we provide truly impacts the communities around us. I want to thank the leadership team and the entire Mission Health family, who inspire me every day. I am fortunate to work with such a great team as we dedicate our service to improving the health and wellness of the people of western North Carolina.”
The Order of the Long Leaf Pine was created in the mid-1960s and is among the most prestigious awards presented to a civilian in North Carolina. The award, named after the official state tree of North Carolina, is presented in recognition of an individual’s extraordinary service to the state, contributions to the community or extra effort in a career.
“On behalf of the entire team at Mission Health, we congratulate Charles for receiving this highly esteemed award,” said Ronald A. Paulus, MD, President and CEO of Mission Health. “Charles has called North Carolina home for his entire healthcare career and has been active in numerous community roles, always focusing on ways to improve the quality of life for so many in our great region. He has helped guide Mission Health so that we are better able to meet the needs of the people we serve in western North Carolina. I am proud to call Charles one of the most dedicated advocates of our BIG(GER) Aim: to get each patient to the desired outcome, first without harm, also without waste and with an exceptional experience for the patient and family.”
