The Narrative Yoga Project, a crowdfunding venture founded by Lenoir-Rhyne University student Megan de Matteo, is seeking participants for a free six-week yoga series. The pilot program is scheduled for Wednesday evenings, 6-8 p.m., from March 4 through April 15 (excluding March 25) with limited space. Classes take place at Lenoir-Rhyne’s Asheville campus at 36 Montford Avenue.
“Like the rings of a tree, our history is written within the language of the body,” Matteo writes in her Narrative Yoga newsletter. “During this six-week series, we will use yoga practice, reflective writing and group sharing to facilitate an authentic experience of the body and the stories which accompany it. We will co-create an intimate community of deep listeners, and we will move gradually and securely into connection with the essence of our truths. Together we will discover what happens when deeply held stories reveal new perspective and appreciation.”
Matteo says the pilot series is aimed at refining the vision of her project, so participants are encouraged to provide constructive feedback.
