HENDERSONVILLE, NC – This event is to highlight the recent refurbishment of the Bountiful Harvest Community Garden in Jackson Park.The garden was established 8 years ago as a project for the Extension Master Gardener Volunteers to provide outreach into the community.
The garden has 30 plots for rental to residents of Henderson County for a nominal $5 fee. Extension Master Gardener Volunteers (EMGVs) serve as mentors and facilitators of the garden to ensure it’s success, but each plot holder is responsible for their own production.
After 7 wonderful seasons, the garden needed some updates. EMGVs reached out to local businesses who responded graciously with the donation of goods and services to help give the garden a much needed lift. This open house is to not only highlight the community garden itself, but to honor the businesses and volunteers who made this transformation possible.
