Pop-Up holiday market supports Helene relief Nov. 21-24

Press release from Grateful Village Holiday Give Back:

This holiday season, the Grateful Village Holiday Give Back invites the Western North Carolina community to shop, donate, and volunteer in support of local families affected by Hurricane Helene from Nov. 21-24 at the Fairview Community Center, 1357 Charlotte Highway, Fairview, NC 28730.

This unique holiday market is a 100% fundraising event supporting Chances for Children Carolinas, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to long-term relief for families in need. Every dollar raised will directly support WNC families as they work to rebuild their lives.

A Holiday Shopping Experience with Purpose

The Grateful Village Holiday Give Back is designed to offer both holiday joy and crucial support for families in crisis. The event will feature new and like-new, gift-quality items at affordable prices, creating an inclusive and festive shopping experience for the whole community. To ensure that those most impacted can enjoy the holiday season, vouchers will be distributed through local organizations, allowing families to shop for free.

Ways to Get Involved

Donate Gift-Quality Items

Community members are encouraged to contribute new or like-new items such as toys, winter clothing, holiday decor, small gifts, and personal care products. All items should be suitable for gift-giving, and each donation helps make this event meaningful for families in need.

Purchase or Gift Vouchers

To spread the holiday spirit, purchase a $25 shopping voucher to gift a family in need. These vouchers allow families to select the items most meaningful to them. Every voucher sale directly funds hurricane relief efforts.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the heart of this event. Community members can help during setup, assist at gift-wrapping stations, or serve as event ambassadors. Additional help is needed from photographers, marketers, and small business vendors, and we’re also seeking donations of gift-wrapping supplies.

Free Bee Trailer – Supporting WNC Families Long-Term

Unsold items will stock our Free Bee Trailer, a new mobile, pop-up store that will bring free essentials to underserved areas across WNC. This dignified shopping experience is aimed at helping families rebuild, with high-quality items available at no cost. To make this mission possible, we’re seeking a 3/4-ton truck or greater for towing the Free Bee Trailer, and we welcome any business or organization willing to partner with us.
