Rain. And more rain. Weather Channel forecasts 1 to 2 inches for already wet WNC

Sunday’s starting out dreary and wet, and with a storm system coming out of the Gulf of Mexico and heading northeast, it’s likely to continue.

Looking at the start of the week, the Weather Channel forecasts 1 to 2 inches of rain for most of Western North Carolina and the rest of the Southeast (much more for the Florida panhandle). As forecasters note, by itself this isn’t much, but the region is already soaked. Be on alert for possible flood warnings.

The National Weather Service has issued a “hazardous weather outlook” for northeast Georgia and WNC, noting possible thunderstorms and “isolated flash flood threat.”
