Self-Help Credit Union offering scholarship to Asheville student who gives back to our community

Press release from Self-Help Credit Union:

[Asheville, NC | February 16, 2022] — Self-Help Credit Union (www.self-help.org) located at 391 South French Broad Avenue in Asheville is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a local student who demonstrates a commitment to community service.

Applicants will be evaluated on their leadership and proven commitment to serving our community. Students must be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational institution, which includes colleges, universities, technical, trade and vocational schools.

Scholarship applications and guidelines can be found at any participating Self-Help branch or online at self-help.org/scholarships. Applications must be completed online or returned to a branch by no later than Friday, April 15, 2022.

Self-Help has provided scholarships to local students since 2015. Each Self-Help branch awards a scholarship to a student from the neighboring community.

Last year Self-Help Credit Union awarded over $33,000 in scholarships to students striving to make a positive impact on the future.

Self-Help works nationwide to provide fair and affordable financial products that help low-to moderate income families and communities of color build wealth, repair credit and achieve their financial goals.
