Sky Lanes to host the Professional Bowlers Association South Open including three PBA Hall of Fame members

WHAT: PBA50 South Open and Pro-Am

WHO: The Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) and Sky Lanes Bowling Center

WHERE: Sky Lanes Bowling Center, 1477 Patton Avenue, Asheville

WHEN: Friday, August 23rd – Sunday, August 25th

INFO: The PBA’s 50 South Open (for qualifying bowlers age 50 and over) will make its first visit to Asheville August 23-25. Renowned PBA champions participating include Walter Ray Williams, Jr., PBA and USBC Halls of Famer and the first player to win over 100 total PBA titles; Pete Weber, member of the PBA and USBC Halls of Fame; and Tom Baker, also a PBA Hall of Fame member and winner of 10 titles on the regular PBA Tour and 12 more on the PBA50 Tour. Top-caliber amateur bowlers will compete alongside the pros in the Pro-Am Friday evening with the professional tournament beginning Saturday morning.

Additionally, Williams, Jr. will be conducting a clinic at Sky Lanes following Sunday’s final competition. Those interested should contact Adam Sprinkle at 828-252-2269 or adam@skylanesasheville.com.

Spectators will be allowed to enter on a first come, first served basis. There will be no admission charge, but the number of people allowed will be limited.
