The Carolinas Chapter of the Counselors of Real Estate presented its 8th Annual CREative Thinkers Awards at a special luncheon event that was held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Carmel Country Club in Charlotte, NC. The Counsel was pleased to announce this year’s recipients:

John W. Bell, III, Jay Batt and Fenn French — Principals Biltmore Property Group, LLC Richard A. (Rick) Grant, President – Beverly-Grant, Inc. and Alan McGuinn – Principal ARCA Design Historic Biltmore Village School Asheville, NC

James (Jim) F. Goodmon, CEO – Capital Broadcasting Company, Inc.- American Tobacco Historic District, Durham, NC

Michael C. Tarwater, CEO and Carol A. Lovin , EVP, Chief Strategy Officer – Carolinas HealthCare System – Freestanding Emergency Department Initiative, Charlotte, NC

These awards are aimed at honoring leaders who exhibited leading edge or out-of-the-box thinking; treated obstacles and risks as opportunities for novel solutions; made cutting-edge decisions; or did something that resulted in a paradigm shift in thinking about a subject. As related to commercial real estate development, the categories for consideration are broad-based, including public policy initiatives, public-private partnerships, adaptive reuse of buildings, LEEDS innovation in sustainability, and more.

    all rich and powerful liberal elitists North Carolinians, especially Jim Goodmon who is uber leftwing…another bunch of rich guys
    picking themselves as ‘winners’… we don’t need this in this publication.
