Press release from Buncombe County:
Starting Monday, Feb. 27, a maintenance project taking place at the Buncombe County Transfer Station may cause some extended wait times. Buncombe County will be making surface concrete repairs to the lower loading area. This will reduce capacity to one active hopper and operational delays should be expected. Buncombe County Solid Waste is working proactively with our commercial haulers, and as the Transfer Station will remain open during the project, our residential patrons may experience some extended wait times.
The aim is for this project to be complete by March 17, any waste that can be taken to Buncombe County Landfill during this time is appreciated and we encourage everyone to exercise caution when using the Transfer Station. Some loads may have to be turned away during this time. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience and thank our community for keeping Buncombe beautiful.
