Press release from UNC Asheville:

UNC Asheville will host its final fall Open House on Saturday, Nov. 12, just days ahead of the deadline for early action applications for admission. The Open House gives college-bound students and their families a chance to talk with current students, meet one-on-one with faculty and staff, and discuss academic programs, financial aid, scholarships and the application process.

Early action applications are nonbinding and students applying early are considered for UNC Asheville merit scholarships. The early action deadline is Nov. 15.

“Open House is a valuable opportunity to experience a university,” said Pat McClellan, UNC Asheville associate provost who is leading the Office of Admissions. “UNC Asheville is ranked first in the nation for ‘making an impact’ by The Princeton Review because our students are given support in making real contributions through research and service, and our alumni find meaning in their work. Coming to campus and meeting students, faculty and staff is the best way to see how our students aim to change the world, and it often helps students in deciding whether UNC Asheville would be a good fit.”

Open House offers break-out sessions with faculty from academic departments and staff from university programs, including Study Abroad, Pre-Health Professions and Honors, as well as campus tours and a chance to learn about the variety of student organizations and activities.

Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. in Lipinsky Hall, and the formal program will begin at 9 a.m. Preregistration is encouraged; complete information and online registration can be found at admissions.unca.edu/open-house.
