UNCA students will present varied research at Research and Community Engagement Symposium

UNC Asheville students will present more than 200 research projects at the university’s Fall Undergraduate Research and Community Engagement Symposium, 8 a.m.-4:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2. Also that day, UNC Asheville students will showcase their work in community service projects and internships at a celebration with community partners from 4:30-6 p.m., in the Sherrill Center on campus. Both events are free and open to the public.

Presentations of the students’ research, which represents many topics and disciplines, including the sciences and technology, social sciences and humanities, business, language and the arts, will be offered simultaneously in many campus locations. The Celebration of Service Learning, Internships and Service, which starts at 4:30 p.m., is expected to attract more than 400 people, including representatives of community partner organizations, faculty, students and others. Student-created displays and presentations about their work will be exhibited and light refreshments will be served.

Representatives of community organizations and businesses interested in learning more about partnering with UNC Asheville to provide opportunities for internship and service learning projects are invited to attend.
