“A Concert of World Music and Dance,” a display of music and culture from Africa, Brazil and Southeast Asia, will be presented April 14 at Warren Wilson College. The concert, free and open to the public, begins at 3 p.m. in Kittredge Theater.
The program will include Christy Clavio, professional performer of mbira (thumb piano) music from Zimbabwe; Capoeira Angola of Asheville, an Afro-Brazilian art form that combines music, dance and martial arts, directed by Stefan Bonitz; and the WWC Gamelan Ensemble, directed by Kevin Kehrberg.
