Asheville Police have identified the man who crashed his car into a gas pump on New Leicester Highway on Saturday morning.
APD says Anthony Severino, 38, of Leicester, swerved off the road around 9:30 a.m. and hit a gas pump at the Hot Spot gas station. Severino’s car burst into flames. Rescue crews used the jaws of life to free him from the car. Severino was airlifted to Baptist Medical Center’s burn unit in Winston-Salem.
