The Western North Carolina Pilots Association will offer scenic rides to the public during their Scenic Flight weekend, October 25 and 26, 2014, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Asheville Regional Airport. Flights are $40 for adults and $20 for children under 12. For a $5 discount available to those sign up in advance. To sign up, email info@flywncpa.org.
Scenic flights are conducted to benefit the Western North Carolina Pilots Association, according to the group. Proceeds will help the association promote aviation safety and provide education opportunities. Each year the association contributes to the Western North Carolina Pilots Association Educational Foundation which provides grants for pilots in training.
Directions: Follow the neon yellow “Plane Rides” signs at the entrance of Aviation Way off of Rt. 280 at the Asheville Regional Airport; go straight ahead on Aviation Way to the O. D. “Lacy” Griffin Building.
