Synthetic Things, from Knoxville, really wanted to play Moogfest. And they do seem like worthy candidates. The electronic band has almost every piece of equipment that the company ever made. Their setup looks like a science experiment.
But when faced with the disappoint of being shut out of the festival that, as far as they’re concerned, was custom-made for them, Synthetic Things got creative. The duo (Tim Koon and Mitch Thomas) crafted this plea, in song, called “Moogfest (Why are we not playing at?).”
Create Digital Music picked up the story and it’s been getting some mileage on social media (including a retweet by Moogfest alum Tara Busch). Hopefully Synthetic Things lands a spot at next year’s festival.
