Just as the calendar page turned to July, local green beans began showing up at area tailgate markets. This veggie gets attention from area restaurants, too, as the focus of ASAP’s Get Local initiative for July. Be on the lookout for all types of varieties at markets and on menus, including the distinctly Appalachian greasy bean.
