Has it been awhile since you've visited The Noodle Shop? Try it again, especially if you have seasonal sinus issues. For that affliction, Xpress prescribes a bowl of Dan Dan noodle. The Noodle Shop makes a rather brothy version that gets its sinus-tingling spice from a paste laced with Sichuan peppercorns and various chilies with a touch of vinegar for extra kick. The Noodle Shop serves this soup with vegetables, plenty of basil and cilantro and a small jar of chili paste on the side if you require extra oomph. The restaurant also serves a spicy version of chicken noodle soup, and although it aspires to reach the Dan Dan's medicinal properties, it doesn't quite get there.
The Noodle Shop is located at 3 SW Pack Square. For more information, call 250-9898.

The comments section is here to provide a platform for civil dialogue on the issues we face together as a local community. Xpress is committed to offering this platform for all voices, but when the tone of the discussion gets nasty or strays off topic, we believe many people choose not to participate. Xpress editors are determined to moderate comments to ensure a constructive interchange is maintained. All comments judged not to be in keeping with the spirit of civil discourse will be removed and repeat violators will be banned. See here for our terms of service. Thank you for being part of this effort to promote respectful discussion.
That looks excellent.
