It’s time for the eagerly awaited North Carolina primay election. Polls will be open across the state on today, May 6, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Beyond those fundamentals, information about voting — including ballot samples and polling-place locations — is available at several nonpartisan Web sites, including a “one-stop” Election Connection page provided by the nonprofit Democracy North Carolina, where viewers may check their registration, find their polling place or review sample ballots. And as we reported earlier, DNC is providing a toll-free Election Protection phone line to report irregularities or problems with voting: 1-866-OUR-VOTE.
On the strictly local/regional level, you may wish to review information at these election-services offices:
Buncombe County 250-4200
Haywood County 452-6633
Henderson County 697-4970
Jackson County 586-7538
Madison County 649-3731
Transylvania County 884-3114
Yancey County 682-3950
And election-night results reporting, along with other statewide information, will be accessible from the State Board of Elections (919) 733-7173, which also hosts its own hotline number for voter problems: (866) 522-4723.
