On Friday, I’ll sit down for interviews with Democratic Rep. Bruce Goforth and longtime local political figure Patsy Keever, who’s challenging him in the upcoming primary election. In both cases, there’s plenty to discuss, but Xpress readers, I want to invite your input: What questions would you like to see asked to these candidates?
Keever, known for her 12 years on the Buncombe County Board of Commissioners, has been a schoolteacher, a prominent local politician and activist. Goforth, a Democratic whip in the General Assembly, has a long legislative record, including working on the Sullivan Acts and the recent budget-balancing act the state’s had to perform.
While they’re in the same political party, Goforth and Keever have different political philosophies and stances on a number of issues, as illuminated in their debates this season.
