Bashman is a wandering outsider, transplant who will probably move on in the near future. He obviously has missed the fact that zombies, wierdo’s, river thing, the largest assortment of botanical species in one area, the largest estate in the country, excellent food, a thriving small farm/ tailgate community, impressive early 20th century architecture, and downtown devoid of fast food, set in a high valley where more meteorologist retire due to the temporate climate than anywhere else…all high spirited and thriving in spite of mediocre leadership, makes Asheville very unique, indeed.

Downtown is not devoid of fast food. Subway and Jimmy John’s are a couple of examples, and thank Allah for them.
Touche’ Unaffilliated Egotist…..Well, not big yellow arches, or KFCs…..and Subway and Jimmy John’s (where ever that is) are not so in your face. So our downtown maintains a certain period look when buildings were made by craftsmen, and not prefab plastic structures.
