Just want to say many thanks to all the folks involved in the running of the N.C. Wise Woman program (Well-Integrated Screening and Evaluation for Women Across the Nation) at the Buncombe County Health Department. For those of us without health insurance, you are a godsend. Because of the screenings for breast cancer, blood pressure and cholesterol, this is money well spent, with early detection on a portion of the population that only go to a doctor when they are really sick. In the long run, you are saving taxpayers’ money by keeping us all healthy.
