My favorite plant would have to be lavender! I have recently, within the last year, become more and more into holistic remedies and using plants and herbs in my daily life. I don’t really have anyone in my immediate circle who is knowledgable on many plants or herbs so I hit the books! The first thing I ever made was with lavender! I love the smell, the color, and everything about it! There are so many uses for this special plant and I try to incorporate it in many of the things I make.
My favorite plant is Aloe :) I love all succulents, but Aloe is my fav for all its varied medicinal uses. I take it internally and use it externally daily with amazing results!
Lately, Holy Basil (Tulsi) is my favorite herb/medicinal plant. It’s so helpful in supporting my exhausted adrenals after a particularly stressful stretch of weeks, and using it daily as a tincture or tea is feeling great for day-to-day maintenance.
I love cilantro, I add it to salads, sandwiches soup, dressing, pizza etc. Its so refreshing! has a very clean crisp flavor.
My favorite is Nettle! (Urtica dioica) I use her everyday in so many things. Infusions (saved my allergies…yay), dried and crumbled in my eggs, in my bread dough, soups and potatoes, you name it, she’s in there. I find that she is such a soothing friend and makes everything feel better. I’m one of those crazy ones that get a rush when whacking the back of my legs with it while hiking. She gives me great energy in so many ways! Use in my face wash and add to my soaps as well. xoxo
Patchouli! I try not to impose the scent on others, so I make candles for myself using the oil. It helps me to feel like the hippie I wanted to be in the 60s.
My favorite is lemon balm–she was the first medicinal herb I grew and used, and she’s gotten me and my family members through all sorts of things from stress and depression to shingles. I make regular detours while working in the garden to brush her leaves and partake of that sweet lemony fragrance!
My favorite herb is peppermint. It’s invigorating as a plain tea or combined with cocoa. It soothes the stomach when taken as peppermint drops, and the smell of it helps to clear a headache. It is beautiful when in flower. I have both sketched the plant on paper and embroidered designs of it on fabric.
Dandelions. I love how they look, and how beneficial tincture from the roots are. I also love the leaves in salads. Plus – they grow EVERYWHERE!
I love the soothing aroma and beautiful color of lavender and love to go to this amazing conference I’ve been hearing about for so many years!
my favorite plant is comfrey
it has healing properities for broken bones, cartilage, reproductive and hormonal issues
it contains protein, calcium iron and vitamins
it should be a staple in any herb garden
I love liriodendron tulipifera….I love making baskets of her supple bark, licking nectar from her spring blooms, and taking in the balm of her joy and upward motion when walking through the woods. For me, her medicine is motivation and delight.
Thank you all so much for participating in this promotion and sharing your favorite plants! The winner of the weekend pass is Beth! Happy harvest season to you all and keep your eye out for other awesome MX Promos in the future!
