Hannah Dansie’s show The Fishwife — opening at The Satellite Gallery on Friday, Aug. 7 — was named after a story from a Grimm’s fairytale book that was read to her as a child. It includes contributions from local artists Alli Good, Sarah Cavalieri, Gus Cutty, Maxx Hawthorne-Fiest, Andy Herod, Nicole McConville, Josie Mosser, Lauren Patton and Ian Wilkinson.
A four-person crew containing some of Asheville’s most notable muralists and painters recently took to the walls of Cullowhee. But those artists — Gus Cutty, Hannah Dansie, Alli Good and Ian Wilkinson — haven’t scaled the exteriors of Cullowhee’s restaurants, overpasses or collegiate edifices, as one might expect.
Julie Ambrustar, Tiffany Ownbey, Joyce Thornburg, Dulci Ellenberger, Alli Good and Bridget Conn all open new exhibits this weekend (Friday and Saturday, Oct. 5 and 6). The works range from illustrations and papier-mâché to music and photography.
