In all, the festival offers more than 40 separate events, with topics ranging from world building in science fiction to the ways music can inform poetry. And, while not all of the sessions involve travel, migration and immigration, many do.
This week, learn about screenings of “A Walk in the Woods” at the Carolina Cinemas, “First in Forestry: Carl Schenck and the Biltmore Forest School” at the The Carolina Mountains Literary Festival, and “Riding My Way Back” at the Free Rein Center.
Unlike larger book festivals, the Carolina Mountains Literary Festival deliberately sets out to create a “festival of ideas.” As anyone who has attended a previous festival knows (the gathering is now in its ninth year), events are informal, and are more akin to conversations than presentations.
