Four Asheville chefs will get creative with winter squash at Utopian Seed Projects upcoming Trial to Table Live Fire event. Also in this week’s food news, the third annual Taste It, Don’t Waste It! Chefs Challenge, an edible plant walk at Tempie Avery Montford Community Center, a Fish Pickin’ celebration with local chefs and more.
The retro fundraiser for AHE takes place Nov. 22 at Isis Music Hall.
Performers include South African singer Laura Reed, Congolese fire-eater Seeko and Ugandan multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter Kinobe. And for $10 extra, dinner is available from The Kente Kitchen. The benefit show is at White Horse Black Mountain on Thursday, April 21.
