After long and successful careers, two veteran musicians settled into retirement in the Asheville area. But the encouragement of friends and family brought both men came back to the stage to entertain audiences around Western North Carolina.
Blue Ghost Brewing Co., hosts a night of country music tribute performances to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society on Sunday, Sept. 11.
A label-defying spirit will be in full effect Friday, Aug. 29, at Isis Restaurant & Music Hall with the celebration of new albums by The Secret B-Sides, Reed, HoveyKraft and Slo_Gold. All four acts will perform original sets, as will legendary singer Sidney Barnes.
Soul artist Lee Fields (RIYL Sharon Jones, The Legendary JC’s, Fitz & the Tantrums) plays Asheville Music Hall on Thursday, Dec. 6. Sidney Barnes, backed by The Secret B-Sides, opens. 9 p.m., $12 in advance or $15 day of show.
