With the partisan voting issue still unresolved, the final slate of candidates for Asheville City Council could grow. But for the time being, here are the eight candidates who made the July 20 filing deadline, according to Buncombe County Election Services. They will all be vying for the seats currently held by Democratic Council members Jan Davis, Bryan Freeborn, and Brownie Newman.
