The city of Asheville and Curbside Management Inc. are co-sponsoring the Feed the Bin and Win recycling contest, which will award $100 a week for 16 weeks. The contest will begin the week of Feb. 4.
Residents of Asheville who are served by the city’s residential curbside-recycling program are eligible for the contest and can enter by simply submitting a completed enrollment card. Enrollment cards and a contest brochure will be delivered to each house along with a 2008 recycling and brush-collection calendar.
Each week of the 16-week contest, one enrollment card will be randomly drawn. If the selected household sets out its recyclables meeting the recycling guidelines that week, then the resident will win $100. If the $100 is not won, the prize will roll over to the next week, giving the next household selected a chance to win $200.
The enrollment card and recycling guidelines are available on the city Web site at www.ashevillenc.gov/sanitation. Forms can be sent electronically to sanitation@ashevillenc.gov. If residents are unsure of their recycling week, check the bottom of the collection schedule for an “A” or “B” in the lower right-hand corner.
Additional questions can be answered by Curbside Management at 252-2532.
