The Asheville City Council looks set to approve the budget for 2008-2009 at its upcoming work session, and there will be what looks to a comprehensive presentation on a new affordable-housing plan for the city.
But that’s not all:
Item C under Unfinished Business is: “Review and discussion of City & County proposals for development on the south side of City-County Plaza.” Two weeks ago, the city unanimously objected to Buncombe County’s sale of the property. Then some last-minute adjustments to the development avoided the need for the county’s permission to use its property for construction staging. Now it appears that Council will once again take up the Parkside discussion.
Council will meet at 5 p.m. in the second floor of City Hall. For the complete agenda, go here.
