With the prospect of a vacant Asheville City Council seat now a realty, and applications already coming in, Council looks like it will review its selection process for a new Council member at its Nov. 11 formal session.
Council will also discuss the possibility of requiring city contractors to use the E-verify system to confirm the immigration and citizenship status of their workers.
And the city and county may establish an advisory committee to help out with the homeless initiative that is part of the now three-year-old 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness.
Meanwhile, a planned vote on the Haywood Park hotel and condo development may get delayed, as developer Tony Fraga requests a one-year continuance.
Council meets at 5 p.m. in the second floor of City Hall. For the complete agenda, go here.
