OK, so maybe we shouldn’t peruse the blog rolls while we’re hungry, but this week food was definitely on our minds and online.
We’ll begin by continuing the trend begun with the blog Portland Vegan Reubens, in which we examine Asheville’s fare through others’ eyes. This time, it’s My BBQ Blog giving props to 12 Bones Smokehouse.
We’ve got some great food blogs here, many of which have already appeared on Blog Log, and now there’s Bill’s Asheville Food Blog, which began in January with Kubo’s and writes this week about Urban Burrito.
And, this is an old but timely post: My Life in Cake, she of the cake making, is throwing the doors wide in a special Mardi Gras grand opening celebration on Sunday.
We were getting lightheaded at this point, and even the chickens over at Recovering Iowan and the lambs at Moon Meadow Farm were looking like dinner.
But then, George the Bastard dug into the etymological origins of a well-known grocery chain, and Yoga Mama Me began to gross us out. And Blue Ridge Blue Collar Girl started talking about dumpster diving, and Reduce Footprints started farming worms. Maybe we’re not so hungry after all.
Hey, at least the bobcat over at Sweet Mess got a good dinner.

I lived in Asheville in 1976. He was such a character, always drunk. Is he still there at the Basicilia?
