PRESS RELEASE from Black Mountain-Swannanoa Chamber of Commerce
BLACK MOUNTAIN, NC (April 25, 2014)– The Black Mountain-Swannanoa Chamber of Commerce announces the 14th annual ROCK the Taste (formerly Taste of Black Mountain) on Thursday, May 1, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at White Horse Black Mountain. Enjoy great local food, desserts, chocolate, wine, beer, goat cheese and much more.
This annual culinary event showcases some of the best food the Valley has to offer. Admission is $25 in advance and $30 at door with a limited number of tickets available. Tickets are now available at the Black Mountain-Swannanoa Chamber’s visitor center or 828-669-2300 to charge for pick-up at the door.
Participants will compete for awards in four categories: best local dish, best of show, best dessert, and best display.

There will also be a rocking chair raffle for only $1 per ticket. The rocking chair is one of the first proto types of this year’s “The Little Town that Rocks” marketing campaign and displays a beautiful photograph named “Sun Path” by professional photographer Ray Mata. The chair pledged by his company, Blue Ridge Pictures.
Rock the Taste’s name is inspired by last year’s “The Little Town that Rocks” painted rocking chair marketing campaign. This year’s campaign features rocking chairs displaying photographs provided by local professional and amateur photographers showcasing Black Mountain’s iconic valley and town.
