“Ponder Anew: A WWII Warrior’s Story” Memorial Day show at ACT

From a press release:

Ponder Anew: A WWII Warrior’s Story Memorial Day show at ACT

Join us Memorial Day weekend for an inspiring performance of Ponder Anew: A WWII Warrior’s Story, a riveting performance with songs and underscoring based on the memoir of Lt. Herschel Ponder, a WWII fighter pilot in the European Theater and a native of Asheville.

Carol Ponder, Lt. Ponder’s middle daughter and her husband, Robert Kiefer, have crafted a performance using verbatim excerpts from the memoir, adding songs from the era and from southern Appalachia. The Ponder family has deep roots in Buncombe County – Herschel’s wife Eleanor taught at TC Roberson for decades and the English wing of the school is named in her honor. And both Herschel and Eleanor were major players in the history of Asheville Community Theatre!

Performances of Ponder Anew: A WWII Warrior’s Story are Friday, May 23 at 7:30 pm and Saturday, May 24 at 2:30 pm. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for military, veterans, or students.
