Summer Cycle community ride set for June 28

Here’s the press release from Asheville on Bikes:

Asheville on Bikes announces the return of  Summer Cycle on Saturday, June 28th.  The annual summer social ride rolls at 4pm from City Hall, meanders through North Asheville and concludes at the Wedge Brewing Company in the River Arts District. The Summer Cycle is a celebration of casual urban riding through Asheville’s beautiful neighborhoods.

“This year’s route includes a good bit of North Asheville, and a steady, but not disheartening, climb,” says, Asheville on Bikes’ Board Member, Rachel Resser. “We haven’t routed many rides through North Asheville so this is something fresh. I’m thrilled about the climb. Our surrounding mountains are beautiful and an important piece of who we are. We get to show people that they are indeed accessible and enjoyed by bike.”

The Summer Cycle culminates at The Wedge Brewery in the River Arts District with music by Claude Coleman, Jr (formerly of Ween) and longtime local musician C Scott (formerly of Speedsquare). “We’ve hosted Asheville on Bikes’ events since the beginning and welcome the cycling community. AoB is a great organization. We’re excited about local and national music talent coming together at the brewery for the event. It’ll be a good time, make sure it’s on your calendar,” states Wedge Brewery owner, Tim Shaller.
