Here’s an excerpt from the piece by Asheville Citizen-Times columnist John Boyle:
I’m not sure Franklin Graham is a Christian.
I mean, he says he’s a Christian, and he goes to church and runs a Christian charity and all, but really, is that enough proof?
I’m being facetious here, but Graham’s recent appearance on an MSNBC news panel program last week makes me wonder if he took to heart that whole “Do unto others…” part of the Bible.
Graham created a stir by refusing to “categorically” state that Obama is a Christian, and he threw the word “Muslim” around like confetti at a parade.
To me, it was a calculated, insidious way to undermine the president in an election year, appealing to deep-seated fears and prejudices of many a good Christian in our country. In short, it was effective politics, but not terribly Christian.
