From a joint release of TEDx Asheville and Venture Asheville
Join TEDxAsheville and Venture Asheville on April 11 for a joint community presentation and press conference. The event will be held at 6pm at the U.S. Cellular Center Ballroom (accessible through the U.S. Cellular Center main lobby). Attendees are invited to come early and network.
The press conference presentation will feature:
· A TEDxAsheville 2012 forecast and a recap of the inspirations gleaned from TEDActive 2012, an event that enables attendees to watch the live-hosted TED2012 program in a comfortable space then discuss the presentations with other passionate people
· An introduction to Venture Asheville, the new branding for the Asheville entrepreneur initiative from the Asheville-Buncombe Economic Development Coalition. Venture Asheville recently partnered with several local and national businesses at SXSW in Austin, TX in an effort to showcase the best of Asheville’s entrepreneur scene. Several representatives will be on hand to discuss the value and relevancy of the SXSW efforts and what it means to entrepreneurial development in Asheville.
· A question-and-answer session with panelists from TEDxAsheville and Venture Asheville to discuss business and community impact on the Asheville community.

About TEDxAsheville
In the spirit of “ideas worth spreading,” TED has created TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxAsheville, where x = independently organized TED event. At TEDxAsheville, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
