FROM THE ASHEVILLE CITIZEN-TIMES:
The General Assembly gave final legislative approval Wednesday to a bill that tinkered with gambling laws so that a 30-year compact the tribe and Gov. Beverly Perdue signed can be carried out. The Senate agreed to House changes to the bill by a vote of 35-11.
Perdue later Wednesday signed it into law legislation.
