Tools for Schools starts today at Ingles locations throughout WNC

From Eblen Charities:

Summer is winding down which means thousands of students will again be filing through the hallways of schools all across our community. Refreshed, students and teachers will be excited and anxious to embark on another school year.

Many, however, may find their book bags, back packs and classroom supply closets empty when they reach for pencils and notebooks.

Unfortunately, because of the current economy, school supply budgets in Western North Carolina schools have been cut. The effects of the cuts and lack of proper supplies go far beyond the classroom as the burden not only falls on the students, teachers and schools, but on every parent as well.

As you shop for groceries or school supplies for your own children in the coming days, pick up some extras and take them to participating Ingles locations on Wednesday, August 8th.

Look at all that stuff that used to be supported by tax dollars!

Ain’t this a great country? We’ve shifted the burden of providing for schools off of the backs of the people who benefited most from them and onto the backs of the very poor people they are supposed to benefit.

That’s progress, folks! And it’s not over! Pretty soon, we’re going to be seeing a complete collapse of the public school system!

Hell, at that point, we don’t need to worry about poor people getting school supplies…because they won’t be going to school at all! That will open up a whole new labor market once those pesky damn child labor laws are gone.

The best part? We’re still going to have a regressive tax system that forces the working class to pay for the school vouchers that let the children of the upper middle class go to the private school system…just the way GOD intended in his infinite wisdom when he created American Jesus to sit on the cross with a high-powered rifle and kill the infidels who put him there.

    Amen.

“Now if we could just get government out of the education business.”

Exactly. They dont even make a profit! True education should be supplied by corporations, like Haliburton, or McDonalds!
