The Asheville Police Department is looking for a suspect in a Tunnel Road bank robbery yesterday afternoon.

The Asheville Police Department was called at about 1:36 p.m. in response to a robbery at the First Citizens Bank on 1201 Tunnel Road. According to the APD, no weapon was displayed and no one was injured. The suspected robber, seen above in a surveillance shot, wore dark clothing along with glasses and a hat. He is described as heavy-set and about 5’8”-5’10.”
The suspect left the building on foot and headed east. Anyone with information about the robbery is advised to contact police at 252-1110 or Crime Stoppers at 255-5050.

If I worked at a bank or convenience store, I would insist on seeing some form of weapon before I would even think of handing over any cash.
