The new Publix Super Market going in at 1830 Hendersonville Road is hiring in all departments and will host a job fair from Saturday, Jan. 31 through Wednesday, Feb. 4.

The fair will be held at Doubletree Asheville – Biltmore, 115 Hendersonville Road.

“Finding a satisfying career at Publix is all the more attractive when you consider some of the advantages you can enjoy,” reads the career section on Publix’s website.

“Learn about the long list of benefits Publix offers to enhance the financial, educational and personal well-being of our 160,000-plus associates. Whether you are in a part- or full-time role, we want you to know how much we appreciate your value to our company and to our customers.”

The job fair will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, and though walk-ins are welcome, you may want to schedule an appointment and avoid any wait times by registering at publixsupermarkets.fullslate.com and selecting the Asheville location.

The new location is scheduled to open in March.

Here’s a list of nine reasons Publix says you’ll love working for the company:

Don’t get us started on how many things there are to love about working at Publix. There are far too many to list on one web page—so we’ll just hit the highlights. You’ll soon discover your own reasons to love working here.

Good Friends

Annual surveys show that one of the top reasons associates love working at Publix is because of the teamwork they experience and the friends they make. Just check out these testimonials to read first-hand how they feel.

Excellent Benefits

Publix offers an array of benefits to help associates obtain health care, further their education, save for retirement, and enjoy discounts on numerous products and services. We don’t think you’ll find a better employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) anywhere—Publix provides free stock each year for your retirement program, and allows associates to buy additional shares on their own.

Ownership

We are the largest employee-owned supermarket chain in the nation. Publix associates benefit from that ownership through profit-sharing in the form of quarterly retail bonuses, year-end bonuses, and free shares of company stock distributed yearly to a retirement account.

Stability

At a time when many other companies are shrinking, merging, or folding, Publix is continually opening new stores. It pays to work for a company that vigorously practices fiscal discipline! We have no long-term debt. Our profit margins are among the healthiest in the supermarket industry. We don’t succumb to Wall Street pressures because we are privately-held. And our leaders are committed to keeping the company just as stable for a long time to come!

Career Growth

Publix has a strong tradition of promoting from within because we value extended service to our company. That’s why so many cashiers, baggers, stock clerks, bakers, decorators, and meat cutters become managers or join the corporate support team. More than 25,000 Publix associates have been with the company for at least 10 years.

Helping Others

For 20 consecutive years, Publix customers have rated their satisfaction with us the highest in the supermarket industry, according to the American Customer Satisfaction Index. We’re not only proud of the relationships we build with customers; we’re proud to be the kind of people drawn to careers that allow us to serve others.

Community Spirit

We were founded on the principles of giving back to our local communities and have for more than 80 years. Publix and its associates contribute more than $36 million a year and countless hours of volunteer work to United Way. And our spirit of giving also extends to such great community partners as Special Olympics, March of Dimes, Children’s Miracle Network, and Food for All.

Committed to Diversity

Publix is committed to ensuring diversity in our workforce, not only to better reflect our customers in our stores, but because it broadens our scope of understanding in all our work processes.

Committed to Planet Earth

We believe in doing business in a way that is responsible to the needs of our planet. Check out our corporate sustainability activities. From recycling to energy efficiency, from solar energy to local product sourcing, our Get Into a Green Routine® is a thriving program across the entire company.
